Groomed For Success

Groomed for Success is a scenario game designed for students enrolled in organizational leadership programs.

The objective of the game is to help leaders overcome unconscious bias regarding diversity in the workplace.

Students are presented with the opportunity to reflect on the reasons behind choosing or omitting a candidate.

The student plays the role of a leader and is responsible for reviewing the files of a diverse pool of employees to determine which candidate would be more successful if they invested in a mentoring relationship. The case files summarize the strengths and weaknesses of each individual employee.

The subtle assumptions we have about others can have unfair consequences on who we’re promoting, hiring, and placing in leadership positions. When a leader is mindful, it’s much easier to develop and advance others and lead more effectively, build relationships, and align their strengths to meet the needs of the organization.
